Owner - Jodi
Jodi Robinson-Cody is one of the owners of Firehouse Pet Shop in Puyallup, where she brings a passion for serving customers and building lasting relationships. Before opening the pet shop, Jodi spent years as an HR professional, leading teams and creating solutions for a large corporation. Realizing she wanted to serve customers directly, she transitioned into the pet industry, combining her love for animals with her dedication to problem-solving and creative solutions.
Jodi holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Washington and is a certified HR professional.
Outside of work, Jodi enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her two dogs and three cats, as well as boating, wake surfing, playing softball, and exploring new cuisines. She is also committed to community service, traveling, and finding inspiration through motivational podcasts.
Owner - Lacey
Lacey Welcher is one of the owners of Firehouse Pet Shop in Puyallup, with her love for pets, community, nutrition and wellness she takes each day on as an opportunity to create new and lasting relationships. Before switching gears and opening the pet store Lacey worked in healthcare for 15+ years managing diverse specialized medical specialties, collaborating on opening new locations and ultimately served the community as a patient advocate. Lacey brings a unique perspective to animal care, emphasizing the importance of health and wellness for pets.
At Firehouse Pet Shop, Lacey & Jodi offer a carefully curated selection of pet supplies, from premium food to innovative toys, ensuring every pet receives the best.
Outside of the store, Lacey enjoys spending time with her own pets, family & anything involving the great outdoors. Water sports, skiing, hiking, gardening, travel & audio books.
Team Member - Alexa
Alexa moved to Graham from Germany in 2012. She is a friendly and dedicated cashier at the Puyallup Firehouse Pet Shop, where she ensures every customer has a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience. With her strong background in education and passion for customer service, Alexa brings a unique blend of skills and warmth to her role.
Interest: When she’s not working or studying, Alexa enjoys reading, hiking, and camping. Her love for the outdoors and literature helps her stay balanced and inspired.
Pets: Two dogs- Tippie and Imbir and one cat named Lahar.
Favorite Thing About Firehouse: Seeing everyone’s pets when they come into the store!
Fun fact: She is working towards her Master’s Degree in Special Education, demonstrating her commitment to furthering her knowledge and skills in the field.
Team Member - Sam
Sam is a Puyallup native and joined Puyallup Firehouse Pet Shop as a Cashier in July 2023. With a keen eye for detail and a friendly demeanor, Sam excels in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at the register.
Interest: Outside of work, Sam is an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking and camping. She also has a deep affection for dogs and enjoys spending time with her furry friends. Sam’s commitment to personal growth and a love for nature make her a well-rounded and enthusiastic team member.
Pets: Two dogs- Jackson and Jewel.
Favorite Thing About Firehouse: The friendly team and giving treats to the pets that come in!
Fun fact: Sam is currently pursuing a college degree in Entrepreneurship, reflecting her passion for business and innovation. She is dedicated to learning the ins and outs of business management, aiming to apply these skills in her future endeavors.
Team Member - Maggie C.
Maggie C. joined Puyallup Firehouse Pet Shop in December 2023. She has quickly become a cherished member of the team. With a vibrant personality and a genuine enthusiasm for her role, Maggie brings warmth and energy to every customer interaction. Currently pursuing her Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificates and an Associate's in Applied Science in Education, Maggie is committed to expanding her knowledge and skills in the field. Her dedication to education reflects her passion for helping others and making a positive impact.
Interest: Outside of work, Maggie indulges in her interests of dancing and painting, finding joy and relaxation in creative expression.
Pets: Two dogs- Lily and unnamed puppy.
Favorite Thing About Firehouse: Maggie values the supportive atmosphere at Puyallup Firehouse Pet Shop and appreciates working with such great people. She also enjoys learning about proper nutrition and how it benefits both pets and their owners.
Fun fact: A fun fact about Maggie is that she was born on Easter Sunday, adding a touch of unique charm to her already engaging personality.
Team Member - Jessica
Jessica joined the pet industry in 2021 after working in the supplement industry. She has a knack for solving pet allergy issues and takes pride in winning over the affection of the store cat, Carla.
Interest: Reading, family, crafting.
Pets: 1 dog (Duckie), 1 cat (Moo) and 1 fish (Louie).
Fun fact: Jessica is allergic to celery (of all things!) and has read over 200 books in a single year!
Team Member - Maggie G.
Maggie G. joined Puyallup Firehouse Pet Shop in June 2024, relocating to Puyallup from Houston, Texas. With a robust background in the pet industry since 2019, Maggie brings a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for helping pets and their parents. You’ll definitely know when Maggie’s at the store by her warm and friendly “Welcome in, y’all!” She’s always excited to share her expertise and brighten your day with her enthusiasm and smiles.
Interest: Outside of work, Maggie is a true crime junky who loves diving into intriguing mysteries, and she has a knack for crafting creative projects.
Pets: 2 dogs; Fiona and Fury and a cat named Wade Wilson.
Favorite Thing About Firehouse: Maggie’s favorite thing about Firehouse is the warm, welcoming atmosphere you experience as soon as you walk in—plus, she’s a big fan of Carla!
Fun fact: She doesn’t have a belly button!
Team Member - Kayla
Kayla joined Firehouse Pet Shop (FHPS) in September 2023, bringing over a decade of experience in the pet industry. A Buckley native, she still calls the area home and is a proud mom to her outgoing son. Kayla works alongside her service dog, Eleanor, a lovable Spinone Italiano who enjoys her time at FHPS. Kayla’s hobbies include martial arts—she holds a 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwondo—playing video games, crafting, and horseback riding.
Pets: Eleanor, a 9.5-year-old Spinone Italiano; Ender, a 10-year-old Blue Point Ragdoll; Effie, a 10-year-old Lavender Point Medium Hair cat; Ezio, a young silver tabby under one year old; Nikki, an 18-year-old Calico; Keahi, an 18-year-old Pinto Gelding; Coda, a 20-year-old Paint Gelding; and two betta fish named Ori and Orin.
Fun fact: Though Kayla is a licensed cosmetologist, Kayla chose not to work in the hair industry, as her passion for the pet industry took hold during cosmetology school.
